1. Novel Project: You are finished the reading phase and have had a chance to discuss the book as a whole.

Your assignment is to take some notes on the items that should be included in a review.(see page 46 in your binders). You will be discussing the information on Monday in your groups.

2. Evolution: First draft of summary from your outline you did in class. Please double space and print for Monday.

WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER 17TH - 19TH

Hello students,

I suppose you have all been reading your novels and hope you are enjoying your reading.

ASSIGNMENTS

1. Novel Project

Your major assignment for this weekend is to read, read and read your novels(also to take advantage of the beautiful weather - go to the park and perhaps read there)
Don't forget to make some questions so as to be able to discuss the section you agreed to read with your group. You can(if you want) take a few notes as you finish a chapter(not too many details) or write a short summary (one paragraph). Also making a character map and adding the new characters to the map as you read on will help you remember who is who.

2. Language Learning Unit

Reorganize the notes you took on the listening passage on Personality and Language Learning.

NOTE FOR THE STUDENTS WHO WERE ABSENT ON FRIDAY.

In order for you to catch up with what you missed on Friday:

1. Please make sure you have caught up with the reading...everybody should be finished the second section of the novel for Monday. Contact members of your group(they may contact you) if you are not sure of the section that needs to be finished for Monday. Remember to make questions for discussion of your section. This is absolutely essential for you to be able to keep up with the project.

2. LANGUAGE LEARNING UNIT: Answer question No. 2 on page 59 of your binders. Remember to take notes on the section : Who is "a good language learner" and then write your answer on a word document, not on the blog. Do not look at the text while writing since you will be tempted to copy too much. Use your notes to write your answer. If possible send your answer in an attachment by e-mail.(see address below) by Sunday at 7:00 P.M.

3. Comment on at ;east three of your classmates' blogs on the pros and cons of superskyscrapers. Please expand your comments....I agree with you 100%-- is not enough....

NEXT WEEK, we will be working on two Units: Language Learning and Evolution as well as on the Novel Project and Lecture Project.

If you have any questions regarding the above, you can write them on the comments below...I will answer them on the comments. If you have questions on a more personal level, use the e-mail: my address is u_lili@hotmail.com

See you all bright and early on Monday morning. We will begin with the Novel Project so please do not be late.
